I'm not sure about you but I tend to be the most creative in the afternoons. Knowing this, I am able to align my "get it done" type tasks earlier in the day to free up my mind space for brainstorms later in the day.

Try it. You may be surprised how much more efficient it will make your workflow.

Michael Hyatt says that anywhere in your day that you can group like tasks, you will limit your mind having to make mental shifts, minimizing lost time and in turn creating efficiency.

I’m currently reading the book GRIT by Angela Duckworth (yes I’m in multiple books at a time right now… ha..I can be little like that).

Anyway, Angela did research on what causes achievement. She found that talent was only one small component of successful outcomes for people. Talent + EFFORT = skill. Then skill + EFFORT = achievement.

Do you believe the lie that someone else in inherently more talented and that is why they are more successful? I know that I have! But, It’s simply not true. You can’t see the consistent and often mundane effort people are depositing into their goals to achieve success.

Keep your eyes ahead and keep at it. One consistent step at a time. You got this.

Sometimes when I'm feeling anxious or indecisive I

Sometimes when I'm feeling anxious or indecisive I go on a trail near my neighborhood. As I come to an intersection point, I simply pick right or left and go with it. Not long after, I inevitably hit a dead end and have to turn back. I don't worry about it too much as I'm still feeling productive. I'm moving.

It's not until I've completed my walk and looked back over my route that I see clearly how the lack of planning resulted in wasted potential. With a bit of foresight and a plan I could have made it to a beautiful overlook vs. settle for the back and forth on a mediocre trail.

Achievement happens when we add effort to skill, but we must not forget the importance of proper planning and foresight.
